"Chaotic Passion" was selected as the cover art for the First Friday Artwalk publication. That is exciting news, especially since it was a wonderful surprise for me coming back from Ireland in August. I had no idea I was chosen until the I arrived at Hip Chicks.

The NEST Project
The NEST project is a collaboration of creativity from artists of Yamhill County, Oregon inspired by the word "NEST". Learn about Jan Shield, Professor of Art at Pacific University, who envisioned this concept of NEST from his hilltop home in Chehalem Mountain at his website: Dancing Trees Sanctuary. I am contributing my creative talent to this project which will involve a several new originals utilizing the honeycomb structures found in beehives. For this art project, I will be delving into encaustics, using beeswax and oils to create my masterpieces.
Here are the upcoming venues:
First Exhibition: The Horse Radish at Carlton, Oregon from September 4th - 30th with a reception on Friday, September 5th from 4:30 to 6:45pm.
Second Exhibition: Accolades Contemporary Art & Craft Gallery at McMinnville, Oregon from October 4th - 30th with reception on Saturday, October 18th from 4:00 to 8:00pm.

Artists Village update - McMinnville Downtown Festival
With temperatures in the high 80's on Friday and mid 90's on Saturday, the Artist Village received astounding traffic from art patrons & connoisseurs of all ilk. With 20 juried artists, the village was well represented with artists -- copper-smith, pottery, sumi-e, water color, color pencil, felting, wood-carver, photography, and oils. This was a remarkable weekend of meeting new people who admired and purchased my art. Considering this was my first juried venue at McMinnville, I had a wonderful reception from the patrons stopping by my booth to gander at the originals on display. I definitely enjoyed my first showing at McMinnville, Oregon.

Carlo & Julian - Where Wine meets Art at Carlton
Carlo & Julian Winery, located at 1000 East Main St of Carlton, is owned by Winemaker Felix Madrid. He grows pinot and tempranillo grapes in his estate vineyard which yields amazing quality wine. He bottled his first tempranillo this Mother's Day and released the wine Memorial Weekend. That past weekend, I had the opportunity to display my artwork in his Carlton tasting room. It was a fabulous weekend with lots of great wine and art connoisseurs enjoying the ambiance & delectable wine.

The Horse Radish — Carlton, OR
I not only walk the long staircase down and next building over for fantastic Willamete Valley Pinot, I visit the wonderful smiling faces and warm inviting personalities serving Sarah & me with our vino and gourmet delectable dishes. They also tout a great variety of wonderful cheeses to pair with our wine selection. Live music entertains each Friday and Saturday evenings featuring jazz, folk and soulful instrumentalists & vocalists from the Portland area.
